Nigerian pop singer, David Adeleke mostly known as Davido has cleared the air amidst fans-fuelled longrunning superiority battle with Wizkid.
‘Fia’ crooner said he’s not fighting with anybody in the music industry.
Davido on Saturday night won musician of the year at the 2017 edition of The Future Awards Africa, and he used the opportunity to address the matter.
Without mentioning any name, the singer said “I no dey fight anybody” while on stage to pick up his award.
He said: “It’s been a great year for me. Thank you guys for this award. I also want us to all come together as Nigerians as one. I also want to say for this industry, me I no dey fight anybody ooh. One love.”
His comment drew wild cheers from the audience at the Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.
Davido won the music category ahead of artistes such as Tekno Miles, Kiss Daniel, Adekunle Gold and Simi.
Wizkid emerged ‘The Young Person of the Year’.
