ConnectAfrobeats, the online networking platform has relaunched with Version 2.0—introducing powerful new features that make it easier for artists, producers, distributors, publishers, and other talents to connect, collaborate, and land gigs.

The cultural hub which was first launched in 2023, is created to connect artists with producers, songwriters, managers, indie promoters with distributors, publishers with creative journalists, among others for collaboration, networking, touring, and other creative deliberations.

According to the founder, Abdullah Abubakre, a Canada based Nigerian entrepreneur and music enthusiast, ConnectAfrobeats was established to be the melting pot of talent and opportunity, where creatives and non-creative players in Afrobeats can connect, find talents, form a team, and overall feel a sense of community with a shared goal.

“I started this platform out of frustration with the gatekeeping, middlemen politics, and networking-heavy game in Afrobeats today,” Abubakre recalled. “ In the past few months alone, I’ve needed a songwriter, guitarist, bassist, and video vixen—and finding the right people meant relying on personal connections. These middlemen will take a cut, drive up the rates, and over complicate the process—killing my creativity sometimes.”

“After we launched in 2023, ConnectAfrobeats has been a game-changer for me, and many other creatives giving us the tools to build and connect while genuinely helping each other succeed. With the relaunch of the platform, I’m excited to see even more creatives and professionals tap into these opportunities and create long-term success for themselves – where they can pitch their talent and find gigs—without the middlemen.

“Independent artists, songwriters, producers, publishers, distributors, video directors, video vixens, entertainment lawyers, and more can connect directly with each other,” he added.

Starting from 28th of March, 2025, new users can now sign up, existing users can log in back and explore the platform, especially the MarketSquare where they can post gigs and pitch their talents, invite friends to their personal space, for collaborations.

ConnectAfrobeats platform had collaborated with the “Canada Council for the Arts, Ontario Arts Council, Music Business Africa (MBA), Pop of Culture on Talent Palette, among others in the past.

Through its strong partnerships and collaborations with the music industry, ConnectAfrobeats is committed to benefitting creatives and professionals by cultivating an environment that fosters creativity, connection and collaboration.
