Majorkay’s MODUPE

Afro-fusion singer Kelechi Ezekiel Ibenyenwa popularly known as Majorkay is officially back on the music scene with the release of his new EP, MODUPE, dropped on January 21, 2026.

The six-track project marks the artist’s return after a quiet period that followed a fallout with a former collaborator. Instead of staying away permanently, Majorkay took time to reflect, reset, and refocus, an effort that now shows clearly in the new body of work.

Majorkay featured Superwozzy, Barryjhay and Jeriq on the project and he also employed the services of amazing producers including Jardon, Skalla, Sequence beats and Tinobeats.

MODUPE centres on gratitude, growth, and resilience, telling a story of an artist who chose purpose over pressure. The EP is already gaining attention for its honesty and relatable themes.

Leading the project is “YBFS (Young Boy From Shalanga),” a powerful grass-to-grace anthem that has quickly become a fan favourite. The track has recorded over 10,000 streams and 7,000 Shazams within its first release phase, earning praise for its message of survival and self-confidence.

Another standout track, “Blessed,” features popular indigenous rapper Jeriq. The collaboration has been widely embraced in Eastern Nigeria, with fans applauding the blend of Majorkay’s soulful sound and Jeriq’s raw street energy.

Drawing from his experiences across Anambra, Asaba, and Lagos, Majorkay leans fully into his Afro-fusion style on MODUPE. From gratitude-filled melodies to street-inspired storytelling, the EP highlights an artist who has turned setbacks into strength.

With MODUPE, Majorkay announces not just a comeback, but a new phase that is marked by focus, confidence, and renewed creative direction.
