A non-governmental organization, Movement for Good Governance Assembly (MGGA) has lauded the exit of Nigeria from recession but with caution and optimism which has plagued the nation for a long period.
This is coming shortly after the Nigeria Bureau of statistics (NBS) released a statistical analysis for the second quarter of the year (O2 2017) which revealed economy grew by 0.55% from 0.91% in Q1 2017 and 1.49% in Q2 2016.
This according to the release means that the Nigeria economy has escaped from recession after five successive quarters of contraction.
While reacting to this laudable development, MGGA in a statement signed by its convener Lekan Shobo Shobowale and Director of New Media and strategy; Alao Abiodun hailed the federal government in its economic development drive.
The group further called on the federal government to also work on the nations fragile economy which its vulnerable to exogenous shocks or policy slippages.
Speaking further, the group in the statement also called on Nigerians to continue to support the federal govt in its effort of reviving the nation’s ailing economy.
