Johanah Napoleon receives DPAA Humanitarian Award

US based entrepreneur and philanthropist Johanah Napoleon, widely known as ‘Ms. Jay,’ has been selected as a recipient of the prestigious Delta Peoples Alliance Awards (DPAA) 2023. She will be honored with the “Humanitarian Award” in recognition of her impactful charity programs and initiatives through her organization, the Johanah Napoleon Foundation.

The Delta Peoples Alliance (DPA) is a socio-economic and political pressure group comprising Nigerian residents in the United States. It is dedicated to promoting the unity and progress of Nigerians while emphasizing principles of wealth creation, social justice, accountable leadership, and economic development in Nigeria. The annual DPA Awards, organized by the group, aim to celebrate and acknowledge the achievements of Delta State indigenes, Nigerians living abroad, and individuals who have made significant contributions to humanitarian causes and economic development.

The DPA Awards are divided into two main categories: voting and non-voting. This year, the awards. Have been expanded to 15 voting categories, 5 non-voting ones, along with 5 presidential honorary awards, bringing the total to 25 categories. In the voting segments, winners will be determined by the highest number of votes received, which will be verified by the award governing committee when the voting period ends on November 30, 2023. The awards ceremony will take place on December 14 in Atlanta, Georgia, where the winners will be formally recognized and presented with their plaques and certificates of recognition.

Reflecting on her recognition, Johanah Napoleon expressed her gratitude and humility at being honored for her charitable work. “Being recognized for my charity and philanthropic work with my foundation in Nigeria is an honor, and this nomination is proof that hard work and perseverance pay off,” she shared. Despite her achievements, she emphasized that awards are not her primary motivation, noting, “I really don’t care for awards, but this one is motivation to keep up the good work, and knowing this is coming from Nigerians is a big win for me.”

Ms. Jay, a healthcare educator, professional, and philanthropist, is the founder of Jay Luxury Spa and Wellness Center in the United States. Her dedication to healthcare goes hand in hand with her commitment to philanthropy. Through the Johanah Napoleon Foundation, she has spearheaded numerous initiatives aimed at improving the lives of widows, underprivileged and orphaned children in Nigeria and across Africa. Her foundation has also supported educational programs and contributed to community development efforts, demonstrating a deep commitment to uplifting marginalized communities.
