Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero has been involved in a car crash in the Netherlands, according to reports in Argentina.
Multiple outlets in his home country have claimed that the Argentine forward has suffered broken ribs after being involved in an accident.
The Manchester City striker attended a concert in Amsterdam featuring Colombian singer Maluma and was reportedly hurt on his return to the airport when the taxi he was in was involved in an accident.
The reports claim that Aguero will be out of action for an extended period of time, though as at time of reporting, there has been no official confirmation from either Manchester City or the Argentina national team.
Aguero’s former club Independiente seemingly confirmed the news with a tweet wishing the forward well, saying: “Strength and quick recovery. All Independiente is with you in this difficult time”.
With Argentina still yet to book their spot at next summer’s World Cup Finals in Russia, Aguero will miss their final two vital qualifiers against Peru and Ecuador on October 5 and 10 respectively.
