Nigerian musician Emeizy is developing his music around themes that reflect some of the realities of everyday life, including love, self-belief, hardship and the need to make positive choices.
Born Emerald Patrick Iruoghene, the artist began his professional career in 2016 after being inspired by his father’s own unfulfilled ambition in music.
His understanding of life has also been influenced by his personal experiences. Growing up after his parents’ divorce and navigating the challenges that came with his family circumstances helped shape his outlook.
Emeizy believes these experiences have given him an appreciation of resilience and the importance of maintaining a positive mindset.
Through his music, he hopes listeners can find encouragement to leave negative choices behind, embrace love and believe in themselves.
The artist’s message also recognises that life does not always follow a predictable path. He believes people should be prepared for challenges while continuing to pursue positive outcomes.
With collaborations including “All My Life” with Rich D Sign and “Sad Truth” featuring Yagaa, Emeizy is gradually building his body of work.
His next priority is to continue improving his sound and creating music that reflects his experiences and connects with an expanding audience.
